Counselling Centre

 

The Roberto Wirth Fund Counselling Centre carries out psychological and social support. In particular: cognitive appraisal, emotional and social-relational support in order to promote a growth process that takes into consideration the resources and potential available; academic support and social development of children.

 

The service provides:

  • • psychological diagnosis, assessment and treatment for deaf children;
  • • Psychological support targeted at families of deaf and deafblind children;
  • • Counseling aimed at professionals working with deaf and deafblind children.

Services can be offered in the modes of communication chosen by those using the service.

The centre staff are fluent in Italian and English, and Italian Sign Language (LIS) and American (ASL).

 

They also possess theoretical and practical knowledge of the specific problems of prevention, assessment and psychological intervention related to deafness and deafblindness.
